The sun was setting as I sat on my Grandpas and Grandmas pier waiting for a fish to hit and watching to see if there were any bubbles indicating there was fish. “Slap” as I hit another mosquito off my arm. Right as I was about to give up my Grandpa came down with a box of leeches. He told me that the fish love leeches but I usually never used them since they take so long to get on the hook. I hooked one on casted as far as I could into the lake. Since it was dark I had to squint just to see my bobber. Then I lost track of the bobber. I gave it a tug and I realized there was a fish on it. The fish gave a decent fight but was on the pier before I knew it. I put it on the stringer and put a new leech on. As soon as my bobber hit the water it went under and it was fish on. Halfway through reeling it in the fish got in the weeds but I pulled it out and landed this fish too! I couldn’t believe my luck so I hurriedly put another leech on and casted it out. After a few minutes another fish hit. It was extremely dark now and the only light was the lamp post on shore. I could tell this fish was much bigger than the other two and I got excited and reeled it in too fast. About halfway it jumped out of the water and snapped my line. The only good thing was I saw the bass and it was the biggest one I have ever seen. Since my hook was gone I packed up and went to the house after one great night of fishing.
